A Petition Requesting the DDDC to Revoke the Extortionate Fine Imposed on Mr and Mrs Coxon

0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!

This petition is to request that the Derbyshire Dales District Council cancel the unfair and absurd fine of £10,000 given to Stuart and Jean Coxon, publicans of 'The Okeover Arms' at Mappleton.

The fine is the result of a complaint by one other individual in the village, who had a problem with the static caravan, which had been installed behind the pub for their daughter to live in, due to a lack of space within the premises. The picture being used by the media (With the timestamp '13/05/2016' 11:01) is a misrepresentation as it is of the caravan in the car park, before it was installed in it's correct place. This picture (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1645559038862129&set=p.1645559038862129&type=3&theater shows how it looked once sited. As you can see, the caravan was barely visible to the public as it was concealed behind fencing and a hedge. Once ordered to remove it, they tried in vain to to sell the caravan however, despite their best efforts, they were unable to do so.

Mr and Mrs Coxon and family are very popular with the locals and work very hard to run a successful business, something which this ludicrous fine will make far more difficult.

Please sign this petition if you feel a miscarriage of justice has occurred and that the fine should be repealed.
