Stop Derbyshire County Council from making further cuts to school crossing patrols

The Tories are serving the people of Derbyshire a double whammy with not only the cuts to the education budget by Central Government but now DCC Tory led county council are proposing to charge schools on average £4000 per year per crossing to pay for the school crossing patrols. DCC are expected to begin the consultation on this imminently and if successful this could be implemented in the new school year. This meaning that children in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas are in great danger completing what should be a simple task of attending school and arriving home at the end of the day.
These changes could lead to crossing guards being made redundant and Derbyshire children placed at risk.
