20's Plenty for Heath

We want the streets of our small village of Heath to be safe.

Currently people use our village where our children play and we walk our dogs and as a 'shortcut' to the M1! A 20mph speed limit would put commuters off racing home through our small village.

We have a primary school in the village just off a busy 50mph road, cars come off the busy highway and through the village where we are walking our young children too and from school.

20mph will make the village safer for all of us and we're asking all residents, frequent visitors and school users to sign and show their support. Our villagers and children deserve to be kept safe. The casualty severity difference between getting hit by a car at 30mph and at 20mph is huge! It may mean life or death! 20mph zones have already lowered the casualty rate in other areas around Derbyshire and our village could benefit too with enough support.

We propose 20mph speed limits on Heath Road, Heather Ave, Bracken Avenue, Fern Close, Moorland Drive, Slack Lane, Lilac Close, Bramble Close and Gorse Bank. Lowering the speed limit through our village will hopefully keep the streets safer and slower without the need for other excessive traffic calming measures.

Please email heath@20splentyforus.org.uk for info on how to get involved in the campaign or with any questions.

Thank you for keeping our streets safer.
