Our Bench which was around a tree in the village which was donated, along with the village stones, has been removed.  It has been cited that the use of this bench could cause damage to the tree roots, the roots are well hidden below the surface and would not be damaged with the use of the bench.

The bench has been a focal point for friends to gather for a chat, for someone to sit and watch the world go by as well as a welcome rest stop while shopping in the village for our elderly villagers.

When the bench was first put in, it was promised that slabs would be put underneath to protect the ground but this hasn't happened and just this week the bench has been removed, with no explanation until we as a residents started asking questions.  We feel this is incorrect with the excuse of it damaging the tree and we want our focal point back. It's greatly missed already.
