Pedestrians from the nearby Retirement Villages who use Walkers find it difficult to cross the Pacific Highway at Rohini Street Turramurra because the green light time at the traffic lights is too short. There is also no room for a halfway safety island that would enable the Highway to be crossed in two stages. The bitumen is also rough and is a tripping hazard. This matter has surely been raised before without any solution being found. There are a number of possible solutions.

The Highway is very busy while the number of pedestrians is moderate, so that the lights tend to favour vehicle traffic. Three sections of the northbound lanes are being widened from 2 lanes to 3 lanes. The intersection is also a T-intersection which complicates the phasing of the traffic lights.
