The gorilla is a hero. He was trying to protect the child from danger.

If she's not charged, then anyone else can get away easily too especially by saying "accidents happen ".

Michelle you decided to have children. Now finding out you been reported a few times of neglect. My gosh what the hell do you think what would happen. I really feel sorry for your children & as a mom myself I hope they take your children away from you. Children should be protected as well.

I BLAME THIS MOM AND DAD FOR THE HORROR THAT TOOK PLACE I ALSO BLAME THE ZOO FOR THIER LACK OF KNOWLEDGE IN GETTING THE KID OUT WITHOUT ANYONE BEING HURT. THE PARENTS SHOWED LACK OF PARENTING SKILLS AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE KIDS THAT THEY REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND THESE PARENTS SHOULD ALSO BE TOLD BY COURT THAT THIER KID HAS TO BE ON LEASH WHEN OUT IN PUBLIC AND THEY SHOULD BE BANNED FROM HAVING ANY CELL PHONES ON THEM WHEN ATTENDING ANY PUBLIC FAMILY ATTRACTIONS. !! PEOPLE WHO TAKE THIER KIDS TO THE DAYCARE WHERE THIS WOMAN WORKS SHOULD TAKE THEM OUT RIGHT AWAY AND FIND A RESPONSIBLE PLACE TO HAVE CARE FOR THEM. IF THIS WOMAN CAN'T EVEN LISTEN AND WATCH HER OWN KIDS, SHE SHOULDN'T WORK IN DAYCARE, YOU NEED TO BE A LISTENING AND ATTENTIVE AT ALL TIMES TO THE KIDS AND IT'S APPARENT SHE LACKS THESE NEEDED SKILLS. !! IF SHE CAN'T WATCH HER OWN KIDS, THEN SHE ISN'T RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO CARE FOR SOME ONE ELSES. SHE SHOULD FEEL REMORSE FOR WHAT SHE HAS CAUSED AND HAVE TO MAKE A PUBLIC APOLOGY, NOT ON THE COMPUTER BUT IN PERSON, THE SAME GOES FOR THE ZOO. !!!!

She was not watching her child. This didn't happen in a split second ~ It took time and effort to breach the security. I know the zoo and the exhibit. If the mother had been watching, her child could have been stopped BEFORE he ended up in the enclosure! He was overheard telling mama that he was going in to the gorillas. She said, "No you're not" and ignored him. Her son is 3 years old!!! Who lets a 3 year old run loose in a zoo? Now we have lost an endangered animal due to lazy parenting. Negligent parenting. Her home needs to be checked to see if it is safe for children.

If this had happened before I would say shame in the Zoo!
But in fact it had not!! If a mother went to a busy four lane highway with her kids and just didn't bother to keep a close eye, then one of them ran into traffic, who would be to blame?? The cars? The dept. Of highways? No!!
The parents!!

the mother should be fined for the trouble she caused and the death of a living creature for the neglect of her child. The fine should be 3 times the costs of all the expenses of the entire ordeal including all costs to the zoo and legal fees and policing fees and she should be forced to do community service as well.
