Due to the very high profile case of Depp vs. Heard it has become even more painfully apparent how male domestic violence victims are treated. There are multiple laws protecting women against their abusers, but absolutely none (that I am aware) for men. Show the world men can be victims too, regardless of the cases outcome! Men should never feel ashamed or allow themselves to be abused just because of their gender. Let's let something great come out of such a terrible situation! Let's see if we can make "Depp's Law" a real thing for male domestic violence victims!! I would like to see the following happen with Depp's Law to help protect men and make it easier for them to be believed that a women is their abuser:
- Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme or similar, designates several ways for police officers to disclose a person's history of abusive behaviour to those who may be at risk from such behaviour. It is intended to reduce intimate partner violence.
- The 'right to ask', which allows members of the public, including but not limited to a potential target of abuse or violence, to request and (in some cases) receive information from the police regarding another person's history of violence or abusive behaviour, including such person's criminal record; and the 'right to know', which allows police to inform a potential target of a threat on their own initiative.
- If their partner has had past violence against their partners a PPO (personal protection order) shall be immediately ordered without a court hearing with photographic evidence as proof of said abuse.
