DePaul University: Reopen John T. Richardson Library on Weekdays until 2 AM

On August 14th, 2017, DePaul announced on the University Library website that there would be a reduction in library service hours starting Fall 2017, closing the John T. Richardson Library on the Lincoln Park campus every weekday at midnight. Prior to this change, the JTR Library closed every night at 2 AM, and nearly every night, many students remained in the library, their studies interrupted by the closing. Now, students will have two fewer hours of valuable study time to work in the library each night. However, with the help of the rest of the student body, I think we can change that.
As an institution of higher education, DePaul should value hardworking students who put their academic responsibilities first, not punish them with early library closure. Join us in signing this petition to urge the Student Government Association and the DePaul Administration to restore the late night hours of the John T. Richardson Library.
