Frank Williams started this petition to Department of Works and Pensions. (DWP)

I am 80 years old and care for a terminally I’ll lady friend for over 100 hours each week.  The DWP tell me that I am entitled to £67.60 p.w. Carers Allowance.  However, they go on to say that this allowance will not be paid as I am in receipt of “benefits” greater than this amount.  Apparently the “benefit” referred to is the State Pension!!  How can this be right?  How many other pensioners are being denied an entitlement because the DWP call the State Pension a benefit?  I, like millions of others, have contributed to my State Pension for almost 50 years.  I am outraged that our government would sanction such a blatant travesty.
