Tina Baer started this petition to Department of Veterans Affairs

PTSD is real and although you can't see it from the outside our military suffer everyday. Did you know 22 veterans commit suicide everyday from PTSD. I lost my 20 year old nephew because of this. The military failed him told him he was not severe enough for medication after 2 attempts of prior suicide and many trips and plees to the doctor on board for help. Advised him if given medication he would not be able to perform his job. So instead of helping him they discharged him as unable to adapt to military life and had him deal with this alone. No one recognized or cared what he was going through. On Mon. March 4,2019 was his last attempt that finally took him.  I am asking for awareness, resources, funding, and recognition of this silent killer. Mental illness is real and needs to be dealt with. Not based on if you have insurance or money. I ask for physic evals for every military person involved in trauma at no cost. Counseling available at no cost. As well as a ribbon given to the miltary in recognition of PTSD.to be part of the uniform. This has to end and not be pushed under the carpet any longer.
