Why this petition matters

Started by Lisa Nashton

In August 2014, the Department of Veterans Affairs launched a website dedicated to promoting collaboration across facilities to improve care for Veterans across the country called VA Pulse. VA Pulse has been an amazing sharing platform and connected 200,000+ users across the country to share ideas and information and to problem solve. VA Pulse crosses all business lines and agencies and connects us all together.

It was formally announced last month that VA Pulse is going away in February 2020 and will be replaced with Office 365/SharePoint Online. Unfortunately, Office 365/SPO doesn't have a fraction of the functionality nor does it meet the current needs that VA Pulse fulfills. Replacing VA Pulse with Office 365/SPO is a step backwards in collaboration and only adds to the endless loop of redevelopment that is burning out the field. Given the multiple steps required for the transitions (one transition to SPO and subsequent transition to Microsoft Teams), there will be a monumental loss of knowledge, content, and users which is ultimately a disservice to the Veteran.

Please sign this petition to get the decision makers to reconsider this decision, because moving forward with replacing VA Pulse is a huge detriment to the VA, Modernization, and the Veteran.
