I’m a retired veteran interested in Flight school as I know there are many similar stories and service members that would benefit. The problem is that, currently there is no Coverage for a veteran to obtain a Private Pilot License (PPL), the service me never would have to get in debt and pay or commit to $12K-$20k just for tuition not including fuel costs, books, exams,  and other fees associated with such training. Prior to taking your PPL test. Then if you would like to continue on to further your training that’s when the Post 9/11 GI Bill would kick in.

My proposal is that the VA approve the PPL training via their voc rehab program with stipulation that if the veteran does not continue and complete the write program to become a commercial pilot then at that point they are allowed to collect from the benefits the amount paid the the school for the PPL course .
