Lee Sutton-Ward started this petition to Department of Transport and

Time and time again I have watched my disabled neighbour have her car window smashed for her disabled badge. Recently she decided to remove it at night and would struggle out to the car early morning and evening so that she wouldn't get a parking ticket. The thieves came back and did it again, this time in broad daylight. Despite the note in her car explaining what had happened. The parking wardens gave her a ticket anyway. It's upsetting to watch. To watch her struggle not just with pain but also the stress of this repeated and seeming unrelenting circle of abuse. She is depressed, in deep pain, and now hardly ever leaving her house. I'm saddened to see such a kind and gentle lady suffer this way. Blue badge thefts have gone up by 45 per cent in the last 12 months, that's from 2,921 up to 4,246 in 2018. That's a lot of suffering disabled people. There must be some other way that government and councils can register and log a disabled badge holder. You don't need tax discs anymore, and If you can park your car by mobile why can't you do that with a blue badge? With technology today they must be able to make this work.
