Roadways to Development

Known to be the central city of Manila and the largest metropolitan area in the Philippines, Metro Manila is currently one of the busiest and most visited place by both local and foreign tourists. It is considered the country's premier business region with sufficient facilities and services in transportation, as well as commercial infrastructure (Philippinecountry.com, 2006).
DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson stated that the presence of utilities, right-of-way problems and limited work areas to minimize the use of roadways; are some of the causes of delay in the completion of road construction, which in turn lead to traffic congestion and disturbance in one’s daily work.
We would then like to address this issue to the government officials, specifically the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), to strictly implement monitoring of road construction, workers and traffic enforcers who are in charge of facilitating traffic congestion; and also providing private vehicles for the convenience and safety of construction workers.
This would imply for reduction of gas expenses to all types of vehicles, more convenient travel time, and more productivity in multi-tasking. Addressing this issue, we humbly ask for your kind support by signing this petition that will be profoundly beneficial to the community.
