Revoke cancellation of Aryan number plate.

This petition had 737 supporters

I have received cancellation notice for my number plate "Aryan 6" from Department of Transport. No further reasoning is provided as to how the word ‘Aryan’ may cause offense to certain members of the community.
The word ‘Aryan’ is derived from the root word ‘Arya’ in Sanskrit. The word ‘Arya’ appears in ancient religious texts of the Hindu culture. This word is highly regarded in the Hindu community. We identify myself as a member of the Hindu community. The spirit of Australia resides in respecting and celebrating our cultural diversity. Using the word ‘Aryan’ on the number plate of vehicle is an expression of celebrating our Hindu heritage. We consider revocation of this personalised plate will go against the spirit of Australia.
We request Hon Minister, Department of Transport, to revoke cancellation of “Aryan 6” number plate.
