Stop Japanese solar farm from being built near Walla Walla, NSW

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

A Japanese company has proposed building a solar farm on existing farmland near Walla Walla NSW. It is proposed to be built across 620 hectares of land and will be in place for 30 years. Another solar farm is proposed at Culcairn which will take up 1300 hectares and is within 10km of the proposed Walla Walla solar farm. This will severely impact local small businesses including farmers and tourism businesses in the area, who will be impacted by increased pests (foxes, noxious weeds, etc), changes to the local climate, reduced property value, impacted views of the surrounding landscape, etc. This impact will have a negative flow on to the local townships including Walla Walla, Gerogery, Culcairn and Morven. There are so many families living in this area who have been there for generations, and this development threatens to put them out of business.
