Redwood Park Pond

Redwood Park Pond
January 5, 2022
Dear Boise Parks and Recreation
This Petition is very important to me due to the dangers this pond creates at Redwood Park. On a daily bases the pond makes it dangerous for the community and their family dogs that are at the Redwood Park. It has been a on going issue for many years. Our first complaint with the pond, during the summer when it is very warm temperatures it attracts mosquitoes and allows them to breed. Which can spread the mosquitoes virus that Boise, already has problems with during the summer.
The other complaint is during the wintertime when ice starts forming along the edge of the pond the community has had several issues with their dog falling into the pond where they are unable to get out of the freezing water. It then puts the owners of the dog at danger and the owner of the family’s dog their only option is to go out on the ice and hope they do not fall in during the rescue of their dog and hope no one gets hurt during the process. Then there is the issue with the inside edge of the pond all the wire that prevents a danger to dogs where they could get their legs caught in or cause a veterinarian bill to the owner of the dog. The neighbors would like to have that dangerous Redwood Park, pond removed and gone from the park.
Thank you!
Sencerely
Angela Weber
