The Philippines has seen a groundbreaking number of killings by governmental authorities since President Rodrigo Duterte took office. Duterte campaigned on a clear-cut platform to kill all those who make the lives of Filipinos miserable, including culprits, as a part of his promise to solve the dilemmas of the country such as criminality and illegal drugs.

During the government’s campaign against illegal drugs, thousands of people suspected of drug trafficking were killed under the administration's "Oplan Tokhang". This is a clear violation of the country's constitution, the infringement of human rights and the right of people for due process.

Extrajudicial killings and forced disappearances in the Philippines are illegal executions and felonious acts. Killing suspected drug lords and drug users claiming that it is their guilt by writing in cardboard and wrapping them on duck tapes - some were shot by stray bullets due to mistaken identity and false accusations.

As students and responsible members of the society, we appeal for justice for the lives that were brutally taken. We appeal for international solidarity to help end the impunity and unlawful executions in the country. The continuing threats to human rights diminish our humanity. We can't allow this to become the norm of our country.

Add your voices to the Filipino people in demanding justice for all the victims of extrajudicial killings.Your signature utters a thousand words against human rights and violence.
