Philippine President proclaimed a “war on drugs” which the president and the Filipino society agree on that matter. For we believe that “war on drugs” can set back the Filipinos freedom and the countries peacefulness. But according to the report there have been 7,080 deaths, both from legitimate police operations and vigilante-style or unexplained killings. And some of them are children or what we call minors, which is person under a legal age.
What is “War on Drugs”?
The Philippine Drug War refers to the policy against the illegal drug trade in the Philippines, initiated by the Philippine government under President Rodrigo Duterte. It has been criticized locally and internationally for the number of deaths resulting from police operations and alleged summary killings.
What are the Bad effects of “War on Drugs”?
President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs in the Philippines is morally and legally unjustifiable. Resulting in egregious and large-scale violations of human rights, it amounts to state-sanctioned murder. It is also counterproductive for countering the threats and harms that the illegal drug trade and use pose to society — exacerbating both problems while profoundly shredding the social fabric and rule of law in the Philippines.
What are the Good effects of “War on Drugs”?
Despite all the criticisms, there are good effects like lessening the number of drug related activities and helping in recovery of the Philippine economy. There are also more foreign investors who already want to invest in the Philippines because the crime rate in the Philippines are lessening.
There are many children who was killed but doesn’t want to die because of this “war on drugs”. Killing doesn’t only happen in the Philippines but also in other countries and it doesn’t focus on drug war but there are other activities that causes death of children. We should not kill because we are all God’s children and we are all the same.
