Make White Nationalists and White Supremacists Terroristic Terms
There is a horrible, growing tide of divisive, hateful rhetoric combined with violent behaviors coming from those who call themselves "White Nationalists" and "White Supremacists". These terms fly under the radar of law officials until the resulting actions lead to events like the most recent mass shootings in Gilroy, CA, El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH. My intention with this petition is to help bring the focus on the root cause of those and many of the other mass shootings in America.
People from laymen to leaders are speaking on the fact that those individuals and groups calling themselves "White Nationalists" and "White Supremacists" are causing great harm in our communities and cities. Compounding the concerns are the issues of gun control and gun safety. Regardless, in several of the mass shootings that occurred in the past five to six years, the bottom line comes down to a belief system that says these groups ("White Nationalists"/"White Supremacists") are threatened by the very essence of how this country was founded and what it stands for - diversity and tolerance, under a body of laws as guaranteed by the Constitution.
There are marked and profound similarities between the thoughts and actions of those who claim to be “White Nationalist” and “White Supremacists” and any of those already assigned the term “Terrorist”. Consider the basic definition of terrorism as found in the U.S.Code (U.S.C.):
“In the United States of America, terrorism is defined in Title 22 Chapter 38 U.S. Code § 2656f as "premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents".
The awful truth of this fact is well documented by news and various media resources. Here is one fact quoted several times since the massacres in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH the first week of August: There have been more mass shootings in the USA than there are days in this year to date, as of August 5, 2019. Please join me and other like-minded Americans to raise our voices and gain the serious and expeditious attention of the responsible government departments and elected officials to include in the definition of Terrorism/Terrorist(s) the terms “”White Nationalism/Nationalist” and “White Supremacy/Supremacist”. Please sign this petition and share it.
