Hold Attorney General Barr Accountable to Prosecute Anti-AAPI Hate Crimes

0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!

Since the introduction of the novel coronavirus pandemic, anti-AAPI hate crimes have soared in the United States. With leading Administration officials using derogatory language towards Asians ("kung flu", "Chinese virus"), and AG Bill Barr's Department of Justice allocating few resources to counter it, thousands of Asian-Americans have been subjected to assaults, slurs, and intimidation.

This type of anti-Asian scapegoating is not new. From the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, to Executive Order 9066 and the Japanese Internment where over 120,000 Americans of Japanese descent were held in prison camps and stripped of their property, the Federal government has often persecuted Asian Americans as "others". Persecution by neglect is no different.

Ask Attorney General Bill Barr to increase resources to properly prosecute hate crimes currently being perpetrated against Asian Americans. We demand the dignity of justice. We demand our government stand up to racism.
