Free Ricky Marcus Curry - Serving 2 Life Sentences for Non-Violent Drug Conspiracy Charges

Free Ricky Marcus Curry - Serving 2 Life Sentences for Non-Violent Drug Conspiracy Charges
Why this petition matters

Ricky Marcus Curry is a federal inmate serving two life sentences for a non-violent drug conspiracy charge. He has been in federal prison since 1999. During the last twenty years, he has not incurred any disciplinary or incident reports. By 2012, he had acquired 84 class certificates ( in house) and 3 college certifications while working on additional education.
Ricky is not claiming complete innocence regarding his charges. He was inadequately represented by his counsel and does not deserve to spend the rest of his life in prison. He has currently served over 21 years for a non-violent crime. It is a fact that minority defendants who cannot afford top legal representation often receive longer prison sentences for lesser offenses.
At a time when this country is making significant changes in racial injustice, it is time to make those same changes in the criminal justice system. Non-violent offenders do not deserve life sentences and citizens who do their time as model inmates should be given the opportunity to rejoin society as rehabilitated, productive members of their community.
Ricky Curry is asking for that opportunity.
If you believe that two LIFE sentences is too long to serve for drug conspiracy charges and that 20 years is long enough to pay for that crime, please sign this petition asking the acting Pardon Attorney, Rosalind Sargent-Burns, to grant clemency for Ricky Marcus Curry. His son and his family want him to come home.
It is time for Ricky to come home.
