Dismiss Terrorism charges against Nicole and Joseph

This petition had 1,492 supporters

Nicole Kissane and Joseph Buddenberg are charged in the Southern District of California with "Conspiracy to Violate the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act," for allegedly releasing animals such as mink from fur farms.

The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act is a 2006 Bush-administration law that makes it a federal crime to "interfere" with the operations of any animal enterprise.  An animal enterprise is defined very broadly and very vaguely, as any business that uses or sells animal products.   Almost every business in the United States sells animal byproducts, thus qualifying them for protection under this law.  It is a law designed for selective prosecutions.

A support fund has been setup for those who wish to support Nicole and Joseph through these tough times.
