Give back the Land

It took years for the Navajo Nation to have a portion of their Reservation declared a National Monument and Protected Land. This land is sacred to them. They were here before and forced to leave at gun point. That led to the infamous Trail of Tears. But the proud tribes came home. Their ancestors are buried here. Their history is here. "President Trump’s arbitrary proposal to eliminate protections for sacred lands leaves tens of thousands of historical and cultural sites vulnerable,” said Alfred Lomahquahu of the Hopi Tribe.
The tribes made attempts to meet with the government before this decision was made, but all their requests were ignored. This land belongs to the People, and their neighbors. They must be included in any and all decisions.
Have we learned nothing from our past? Our native bothers and sisters need their land. They are connected to it in a way we can never completely understand, but we must respect.
Please contact your Representatives, Secretary Ryan Zinke, and President Trump, and ask them to give back the land to the rightful owners.
