In July 2021 I travelled to Istanbul, Turkey to marry my fiancé of 5 years after his visitors visor to travel to SA was declined due to the consulate incorrectly reading his bank statement. After our marriage in July we both went back to the SA embassy and re-applied. We were made to wait in Ankara for 6 weeks (processing time takes 10 days). The consulate refused to take my calls or meet with me. He had taken my remark of him not being thorough in the 1st application personal. I employed an attorney from SA to assist, to no avail. The 2nd application was turned down too. The reason given was miss-representation. I have returned to SA. My husband is stuck in Kenya. We have spent 27 USD on trying to get my husband a visitors visa and we are eventually out of funds. Are SA consulates in foreign countries God? My consulate refused to take my calls or meet with me. Are visas not granted on merit and circumstances? I have emailed the President, Minister of Home Affairs as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs without a reply from any of them. We are desperate to bring my husband to SA to meet my family
