Hairdressing is a red seal ticketed trade. One of the first in Canada. People don't stop growing hair and hairdressers and Barbers have a much needed set of skills for the betterment of a country. Look good feel good. Everyone needs that!

I’m only signing so that I can post an alternative view. We need Australian apprenticeships in hairdressing financially supported by government so it is an attractive option for employers and employees. We need it NOW. There are so many unemployed young people - please support them to get a trade not people from overseas! Our apprenticeships have all been disappearing since John Howard removed support. When I was a kid leaving school in mid 80s lots of kids took up apprenticeships but they are hard to come by now and the pay is very low, there is no security of employment, and you pay fees as well.
