Malnutrition basically means bad nutrition, every day 95 children in the Philippines die from malnutrition and it's cases abruptly increases that can lead into different health issues including stunted growth, eye problems, diabetes , and heart disease. Malnutrition is one of the challenges that Northern Mindanao is facing. The region doesn’t worry about the employment but the malnutrition of many netizens in the region. Yes, people in there have works but still they can’t prevent being lack of nutrition, especially the children. Children under the age of 5 year-old below are those who has a higher risk of having malnutrition but there are some populations that also have a high risk of developing certain type of malnutrition depending on their environment, life style, and resources. Poverty is the most fundamental cause of malnutrition although many other factors contribute, year between 2000-2018 the number of children affected fell from 198.2 Million to 149.0 Million but in 2012 extreme poverty within the Philippines affected 19.2 percent of the population or around 18.4 Million. There are findings revealed that malnutrition affects students most often their physical growth, cognitive development, and it consequently impacts on academics performance health, survival of learners, and behavior means everyone can be affected to malnutrition.

 

Our main purpose is to give knowledge for those are needed to be informed about how can they be more healthy, how can we fight against malnutrition, how can they reach out for help, and lastly where can they seek for help and attention. They can go and reach out to the barangay officials, health workers, NGO's, the department of health officials, and doctors.

Malnutrition is a condition that results from eating diet in which one or more nutrients are either note enough or too much that diet causes health problems. It maybe because of lack of protein, vitamins, or minerals. The main reason to this is poor diet or lack of food.
We the nutrition defender can help and reach out those citizens who are experiencing this kind of condition called malnutrition in giving knowledge about the healthy diet, nutrition, vitamins, and mineral should a person must take. Encourage them to more healthier food choices such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meat that will help them to limit their intake of solid fats, sugar, alcoholic beverages, and salt. We are willing to suggest ways to replace less healthy foods with more healthier choices.

Our mission is to figure out what we need to do and what we can do effectively to fight against malnutrition cases here in our nation.
1. To provide knowledge for those mother on how can they take care about the health of their family within their community.
2. To a child to have a wealthy lifestyle as they grow up healthy
3. To improve patients safety and quality of care by raising awareness and increasing knowledge about related malnutrition.

We are looking forward for a better nation with a healthy environment and community for all those citizens in our nation without the health issues like malnutrition. Ensuring the nutritional well being of all Filipinos, recognized locally and globally led by team of competent and committed public servants who believes that the children is our future.
