The NHS’s out of court settlement to pay Virgin Care thousands of pounds of taxpayers money, on the condition that details are not disclosed, suggests that this is hush money.

Taxpayers are entitled to answers to the following questions.

1) (a) On what legal authority does the NHS prevent it’s taxpayers from knowing why it has agreed to pay Virgin Care an out of court settlement and (b) why has the figure, once reported by Surrey Downs to be £328,000 and by others to be as high as £2,000,000 or even higher, been removed having been made part of the non-disclosure agreement?

2) On what legal authority does any government department use taxpayers money, whilst also using the legal system to ensure non-disclosure of details to the taxpayer, of the need to spend their money?

We ask the Department of Health to answer to this and to fully disclose the reasons the NHS has reportedly paid thousands of Pounds of the taxpayers money, in order to meet an agreed out of court settlement, wherein it was also agreed that there would be a non-disclosure policy, preventing details of the case being disclosed to taxpayers, those made responsible for paying this settlement.
