MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS

World Health Organization’s report indicates that close to 50 percent of the total population of the world are victims of one form of mental disorder or the other.
Mental illness refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors.
Living within a culture that emphasizes resilience and humor amidst pain and personal suffering makes it all more difficult to talk about mental illness out in the open.
The stigma surrounding mental illness only adds to the layers of struggle of people who suffer from various mental health conditions.
Conversations should start within families and other social circles, where help is within reach.
We aim to free mentally ill patients from the social stigma and discrimination, which can trap them in a cycle of illness. We all can help and be a part of this change, whether we have mental illness or not.
Let's break the silence and save lives today.
