A decade of social care and public health cuts and under-investment in the NHS by the Liberal Democrat and Conservative governments since 2010 has left services struggling.

King’s College Hospital NHS Trust alone is now spending over £150 million more a year on services than it gets in government funding.

Under new reforms the Conservative Government expects NHS trusts in South East London to save about £400 million over the next four years – effectively a huge cut to health services in our region.

Lambeth Labour Councillors have launched a #FightingForOurNHS Campaign to demand proper funding for the local NHS and public health and social care services that prevent illness and support people to stay well in the community. We also want local people have a greater say of how services are organised and for them to benefit residents by paying fairly

Join us in calling for:

  • A major central government investment to stop and reverse cuts to the NHS, public health and social care in South East London.
  • The local NHS to involve local people more in decision making about their services and avoid closures and privatisations unless there are good clinical reasons.
  • Action by local NHS organisations to close the health gap by becoming London Living Wage accredited, giving mental health parity with physical health and offering greater to support to those communities with the worst outcomes.

We are calling on the Government to invest more in our local NHS, public health and social care service that support our residents. We also want the new NHS arrangements to be shaped by local people and close the gap in health outcomes. Please sign this petition and join us in our campaign to ensure that our NHS is sustainable funded for the future.
