Teaching and learning CPR to be made compulsory in all UK schools
Teaching and learning CPR to be made compulsory in all UK schools
Why this petition matters
When I was in school being taught how to do CPR I thought I’d never have to use it. Today, I had to. An old man had fallen and wasnt breathing, surrounded by 4 other adults, at the time I was the only one who knew how to do it until other bystanders came and took over. I think being taught CPR should definitely be compulsory in schools as I may have just saved a mans life and one day you might have to use it. Although it’s a scary thing for a 19 year old girl to have to do, I feel extremely proud of myself for knowing how to do it when others didn’t
I think the fact that there is a lot of people in the uk who don't know how to do CPR is terrible but because of the extracurricular activities I participated in during schools, I knew how to do it. This can change! If learning/teaching CPR in schools is made compulsory, there could be so many lives saved!
Imagine if, god forbid, you or somebody that you love were in that man's shoes one day, with your heart not beating. I'm sure you would want people to start CPR on you to try and get your heart beating once more instead of waiting 5-20 mins for an ambulance crew/paramedics to come to you. That 5-20 minutes could be life or death.
Please sign this petition to make a real change in the UK. With this knowledge, so many people's lives can be saved.
