STIs and abortions in teenagers and young adults is an issue in the US in today's society. Better and more regulated sex education can help lower the amount of STIs and abortions in teenagers and young adults. Sex education is not legally required by the US government. A little more than half of states have laws that require sex education. Not all states that require sex ed have the same regulations as other states, some offer more than others. All while this is happening, STI rates just keep going up. To lower the rates of STIs and abortions, the US must require all states to provide sex education with specific standards.
