Schools! Please say "No" to bullying
Why this petition matters

Some schools are not tackling bullying adequately, resulting in victims not getting the support necessay. My 14 year old niece ended up with a broken leg and missing school after being attacked by some of her schoolmates just outside the school. She is now afraid to go to school and has lost confidence in herself, affecting her general performance. The school did nothing to the perpetrators and instead were accusing my sister of not sending the child to school when she could not walk as she had just had a plaster applied to the broken bone. My sister was accused by the school of not following procedure when she reported the case to the police. I am hearing a lot about such incidences happening coutrywide. Parents need to feel confident that their child will be safe when they leave them at school. Schools should stop habouring and protecting bullies. We could help certain children avoid ending up in criminal activities if they are corrected early. It seems as if schools are afraid to tackle this issue fully. Please help innocent families and children to be safe in their educational communities. Children go to school to learn and achieve their best in life, not to be abused. Every child matters. Recently a mother told of her 10 year old being attacked just outside his school and again the school said they could not do anything as the incident occured outside school, even though there is a video of the children in their school uniforms, taking part in this horrible act of violence. Where can children and their families go for support if schools shun them? Who is there to safeguard our children? Should we all stop working so we can home school our children so as to try and keep them safe? Are there any guidelines given to schools for tackling such issues and who monitors that schools are following them? Help us prevent psychological, mental and physical abuse in schools, resulting from children being abused by their peers while authorities turn a blind eye or point a finger at the victim. Something must be done before we hear of loss of life- a child having been attacked by their peers to the extend of loosing their life!
