School Uniform Over Priced
School Uniform Over Priced
Schools are re-opening soon, kids are excited and eager to meet their new teachers and catch up with friends. On the other hand, it's somewhat stressful for parents, because of the cost implications.
School uniform is one of the major nightmare of almost every parent/ guardian, mainly because of how ridiculously expensive it has become. For example, a school shirt costs R150 - R200 each, because it happens to have a school emblem...how significant is that really? How many school shirts are you going to buy at that amount? Especially for primary school children? What's wrong with a plain white school shirt? For that amount you can get 14-20 school shirts @ Pep and Ackermans, it's a total rip off. School uniform will come up to +-R3000 for one child, and that's beside sports and winter uniform....and what happens if you have more than one child???
Why should a school have only one uniform supplier? Why should the monopoly continue?
