Mental health issues amongst teenagers and young adults studying is rocketing. The amount of stress that students have to go through around exam period is completely unjustified. Examinations prove nothing other than the fact that some people are better at remembering information than others. When was the last time you sat an exam and remembered everything you wrote a month after?

The examination process is completely bias and unfair. It does not favour people who have problems with their memory e.g with thyroid conditions, it does not favour parents who are studying, it does not favour anyone that is grieving; it does not benefit anyone in my eyes. There are all too many people who are hit with circumstances that are out of their control on the day of the exam or a few days before and fail due to this.

Please seek to consider the effects that examinations have on students. Students pay for university education and should have a level of control in regards to how their education is conducted. The fees for university are sky high and unjustified for how little benefit the students get and how a lot of students leave university feeling.
