Students should be given the option of predicted grades as soon as possible as we can not foresee what is going to happen in the future and we are in very unpredicted times and it’s unfair to put this amount of pressure on 6th year students across the country when covid-19 is still a factor and many students will be unable to complete mocks and the leaving cert due to covid. This issue needs to be resolved and we should not be expected to do a traditional exam when we have a massive amount of stress, worry and pressure that previous years who sat a traditional leaving cert didn’t have. Also the previous two years got the option of predicted grades in these uncertain times and we haven’t been given the option when we’re in the same situation??. It’s not about how much school we’ve missed or how behind we are(which is also a factor), it’s about the uncertainty around what will be happening when it comes to doing the exam and unfairness of it all. No one can know for definite if we will be able to sit the exam in June with all the different variants of covid coming about and it’s so stressful for students to deal with and it doesn’t have to be. We need to be heard!!
