On the 3rd of August 2020, the proposal for changes to how the 2021 GCSEs are going to be assessed was confirmed however the vital section on postponing these exams to allow for more preparation time and teaching have not been included and may not be an element they are will to include.  The initial proposal was to delay the exams until after their half term break, week commencing 7th June 2021. Their response to this currently is: "We also sought views on possible changes to the summer 2021 timetable. While there was general support for a delay to the exams, to allow more time for teaching, respondents were less positive about this if it meant a potential delay to results. We will continue to work with the DfE, exam boards, regulators in Wales and Northern Ireland, and groups representing schools, colleges and higher education to consider the best approach, and we will confirm our decisions as soon as possible."

Every opportunity has to be given to maximise our children's chances of success after these unprecedented times and by postponing their exams dates will allow for invaluable time for tuition, revision, exam preparation and confidence building which should remain paramount.
