Khean Andres started this petition to Department of Education (Philippines)

Even in online classes, bullying is still occurring. According to an article in Manila Bulletin, a girl has been bullied by her fellow students in a Zoom meeting. The relief she once felt disappeared when the incident happened. The girl thought that online classes could prevent her bullies from dominating her, but it's not a hindrance.

The said situation proves that bullying can still happen even if the way of education has temporarily changed. Cyberbullying is still prominent; it may even be worse because students are obliged to engage themselves on the internet due to education. Unlike the traditional way of schooling, teachers couldn't give their full supervision to all their students. For this reason, students who are bullied might be threatened and silenced even more.

Because of this, we would like to request the Department of Education in the Philippines to conduct online seminars about bullying, specifically cyberbullying, so that students can be reminded of what they can do if ever they experience it. Aside from this, we also urge DepEd to remind the students about the laws that our country has regarding cyberbullying. Correction and discipline must continue inside schools despite the change that happened in the way of education due to the pandemic.
