Mental Health Curriculum for K-12
Mental Health Curriculum for K-12
Mental health issues have plagued young people for decades. Suicidal ideation is on the rise, and thousands of children and teens die by suicide each year. Mental illness is a major concern for our youth and we are failing each generation by not taking a hard look at what needs to be changed to reduce this trend.
This petition is urging our leaders to immediately develop and implement a K-12 mental wellness curriculum that teaches children and teens emotion regulation skills, effective communication skills, and crisis management support. Part of ending the stigma around mental health is to start the conversation early. It is never too early to provide children the vocabulary and skills needed to communicate their mental health needs.
By signing this petition, you are committing to making sure we do not continue failing children in their struggles with mental illness. You are letting them know their voices will be heard and changes will be made!
