MCAST students, specifically those who are taking the course titled ''Advanced Diploma in Creative Media Production'' have certain assignments that require the use of certain programs, such as:
Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and much more.
In the institute found in Mosta, students have the accommodation of working on IMacs, however, programs such as those mentioned above have their license denied, thus students cannot make use of these programs to tackle their tasks.
This issue was clearly addressed last year by sending e-mails and confronting who ever is concerned about this matter.
Graphics Design was a subject introduced to us during the 1st semester, programs such as illustrator and photoshop were a MUST to get a good grade. For 2 tasks MCAST students had to find a way of tackling these tasks, simply because no programs were installed in the room that we had the lecture in.
We just began our 2nd Semester which focuses on Adobe After Effects, which still to this date, the majority of computers found in the institute have their license denied.
I repeat, the issue was clearly addressed, the ammount of computers that do have the programs is very little, and the ammount of students is very big, not to mention that some computer have very old programs.
So let us students speak our minds and fight for our rights, cause addressing this issue within the institute's walls is getting us no were.
