I agree, this could help a lot of people, who will either, be loners, commit suicide, and possible even hurt others. This needs to be dealt with. "Autism NI", please sign this petition, it would mean a lot.

Autism is becoming more widespread and it is not going away. For the sake of ALL who are present in the classroom, and their families, full training must be given to teaching staff, including refresher training, as it is easy to slip back into methods that only suit neurotypical children.

I believe in spreading awareness of autism so that we better understand each other as a species. I have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at a young age so I was quite lucky but I'm sure there are plenty of others out there who have a form of autism and haven't been diagnosed as such and so they aren't getting the support they need. The sooner it is caught the sooner appropriate support can be given and being children is when we develop at our fastest rate. There are a few things to consider, how much should children be made aware of mental disorders and from what age, and have we a correct system to determine who needs what levels of support if at all. Our strongest trait as humans is our adaptability to life's challenges, how do we grow if we don't overcome obstacles. It is hard and sometimes I feel I was undeserving of the support I received that could have been given to others. There is a lot more to it than simply offering support, life can be as great as teacher as any and we all can't be millionaires, but we can be successful at being contempt with ourselves and I think some of us need less support (if we ate determined to need support) than others to reach that level.

I’m signing because I can’t believe that this isn’t standard already. Our babies deserve the best!

Harm is being done to our SEN children in schools...hospitals...care homes..ATU units..social work support care because of lack of training in Special needs. Announcing "We are Inclusive" is not enough when the proper supports and training is not in place...it creates school refusers, mental health problems, suicide and parental blame.
