Clare Sober started this petition to Department of Education and

I have recently become a single mother of two boys and awaiting the start of my adult nursing degree. I have worked since the age of 15 and have dreamt of becoming a nurse for around 10 years and I felt I was at the right time of my life to start, I was unaware that my relationship of 8 years would break down when accepting my offer and did not want that to stop my dream of becoming a nurse. The lack of help is shocking and I have seen and heard many stories of fellow student nurses either dropping out due to finances or struggling to survive, this seems to all be down to our maintenance loan being classed as income, however this is not income as we will be expected to pay this back.

The UK is currently crying out for nurses and have a huge amount of vacancies and less people applying to do their degree for these reasons.

We need change to our education system and we need more nurses please sign and help us be able to study and work and become the nurses we need so desperately.
