let the girls wear pants

We, the students of Macarthur girl’s high school demand our school to allocate us the rights to wear pants/shorts. Our girls believe that wearing a skirt is impractical, uncomfortable and restricts them.
Having pants/shorts as part of our uniform would be beneficial in comfort and practical use. Also letting the girls wear pants would make a change in the schools history.
Our uniform policy states that: Girls are expected to wear the full school uniform each day with PRIDE. The school is judged by students in uniform and their behaviour in that uniform. Neat appearance in full and correct school uniform is essential. All clothing should be clearly labelled.
Wearing pants would not, change our behaviour or 'neat' appearance and would make our school look less sexist and restricted.
Our proposal: Allow the students to wear pants/shorts as part of the regular uniform; this decision will not only make our school appear more 'neater' but will rather expand the students choice in uniform.
