The kids need to learn media literacy and the teachers need to learn it, too! We need to educate our teachers in critical thinking and how to recognize disinformation so they can teach it to their students.

Media literacy is crucial to maintaining the very basis of what truth and fact are. It is imperative every citizen can distinguish between truthful and manipulative content and engage in critical thinking now more than ever, and educating our K-12 students on navigating information is a great place to start.

Media and Digital Literacy is key to empowering people - enabling them to focus less on negative news and social media - more on things that promote their well-being and aspirational agenda. Let's make MIL available to ALL.

I have two children and I want them to really see people, empathize, learn about individual situations and understand motivations. To be open to change and other points of view; not to be manipulated by sensationalized stories, edited clips taken out of context and inflammatory tweets that all seem to thrive on conflict rather than unity.
