Bullies are not out for lunch money anymore, they're claiming lives. My daughter was assaulted twice at her school here in the inner city of Camden, New Jersey. It needs to be a mandated stipulation added to these bullying laws that supports the police being called once bullying becomes physical. I requested to meet the parents of the student who choked my daughter, while she sat at her desk in her Spanish class. I was asked to leave the school, and told things would be handled accordingly. The very next day, another incident. My daughter had been hospitalized two weeks due to this trauma(missing Christmas and New Years with family). This traumatizing experience is a battle more than just my family is trying to win. Our kids have the right to be safe and learn at the same time. The Superintendent as well as the City Council in my city have been notified, and my daughter still does not have a safe place to simply learn. I am asking for your signature today to help change how incidents that, may continue to occur, can be handled with the priority that a child's safety deserves.
