Get Prince Albert School/Trust to support parents and children during school closure!
Why this petition matters
Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well and keeping safe
I have 3 children, all attend different schools.
My partner is categorised by the government as a key/critical worker - I am a full time student whom now has to attend web lectures and assessment/exams online via videoconference calls from home as universities are closed.
Prince Albert School/Trust in Aston applied their own criteria to parents/children whom they would support - only where both parents were key/critical workers. Refusing to provide any further explanation as to why nor take on individual case by case approach to support.
Nonetheless, school closed on 20th March 2020, with bare minimum of a few pages for homeschool packs - including copies from other schools and a page of website links.
Since then, Prince Albert School has not contacted parents AT ALL (not even on website) to provide support or keep in contact to check wellbeing of children whereas both my other 2 children’s schools have daily set tasks, called to check on children, emailed and sent in depth, quality of homeschool packs. Oh and not to miss out fact that both other schools supported us parents (1 that is a key worker as government guidance stated if required!) until we were able to support children at home - unlike Prince Albert School/Trust.
I would like all parents impacted by Prince Albert School/Trust lack of support, lack of consideration to help get answers as to why there is no contact and get the relevant authorities to push to get us parents and our children of Prince Albert School/Trust the support we deserve! The educational and wellbeing support they are funded to provide!
I hope you all understand and take a stand against ‘outstanding’ OFSTED rated schools that merely do basic to appease the check box exercise for regulators.
This is completely unacceptable!
Thank you all, we can get through this challenging time if we pull together, with true British resilience, let’s beat COVID-19 and get our lives back
