Lannie Timbreza started this petition to Department of Education

Free education is education funded through taxation or charitable organizations rather than tuition funding. Many of the filipinos are undergraduate because of the poverty in our country. Based on the 2017 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS), about nine percent of the estimated 39.2 million Filipinos aged 6 to 24 years old were out-of-school children and youth (OSCY). OSCY refers to family members 6 to 14 years old who are not attending formal school; and family members 15 to 24 years old who are currently out of school, not gainfully employed, and have not finished college or post-secondary course.

If the Department of Education will offer a free education to all filipinos from K-12 until tertiary level our country will have a employed filipinos that have a degree. In additon,  The fact that all children have access to the same quality of education is an advantage to them. It does not matter how wealthy or poor your family is, free education levels the ground for all kids, giving everyone an equal opportunity to excel and  will have the same footing in terms of finding jobs and the poor will have the same opportunity given by rich parents to their children,to better his/herself by providing a career out of the kind of education he/she pursues.
