Jeffrey Chang started this petition to Department of Education

The American high school education curriculum fails at preparing students for the real world by teaching us topics like calculus and chemistry that have no practical use for most adults, while skills such as knowing how to drive, how taxes work and efficient ways to do them, as well as ways to earn sufficient income once students are out of high school would be much more beneficial for preparing the next generation to face the adult world. It would be much more beneficial for someone to know how to jumpstart a car than have the Chinese Dynastic Cycle memorized. Furthermore, the education system requires students to have a high GPA and a high class rank, which causes physical and emotional damage to students by causing then to get little to no sleep because of excessive hours of homework, even when studies have shown higher amounts of homework do not correlate with higher grades. Right now, the only thing high school teaches us is to fear it, and this needs to change.
