Recently, Harriet Harman MP and We Can't Consent to This were able to add an amendment to the Domestic Abuse Bill to end the 'rough sex' defence in UK courtrooms - so that when a womxn is murdered, their killer cannot claim it was during consensual sex. However, for real social change, attitudes also need to change. The outdated ones are currently embedded in our out-of-date sex ed curriculum.

Some topics missing/under represented:

• Pornography
• BDSM
• Consent
• Sexual and Domestic Abuse
• LGBTQ+ sex and relationships
• Femxle early stage development and sexual pleasure
• Normalising normal bodies

In order to create healthy attitudes towards sex, the curriculum needs to change, including but not limited to the topics above. Violence towards womxn and girls is an ongoing problem that needs to change. Womxn should feel safe during sexual encounters, both inside and outside the home. By teaching these topics early on, children will grow up with them normalised into their everyday routines and lives. Healthy sex will be normal sex. Not only to save countless womxn against sexual violence, but to not breed another generation of abusive men.

For womxn like myself, and so many others, this could be a situation of life of death. Femicide is a real issue in our society and it cannot be ignored any longer. No womxn should feel unsafe in her home. No womxn should feel safe because of her sexual preference. Things need to change.
