It is unfair to the hardworking students if another person with the same/lesser talent gets better opportunity just because of the caste he/she belongs to, despite them being economically sound. 

This practice was started to help the secluded castes of our society to be at par with the rest. But in today's time, people are getting undue advantage of it despite of not facing any kind of social seclusion. Times have changed and the laws shall too. Countless general candidates are facing the wrath of tremendous hardship in this vastly competitive reality which ends up with them not getting what they truly deserve due to this quota system. 

If it's felt that SC/ST/OBC are still backward in today's time, quota based on both caste and their economic status should be considered rather than just the caste/tribe alone.
